New Work! Two Hares and the first Little Elephant!!

Well, it's been a busy few weeks, despite the laser cutter  being down, I had a few things to be getting on with... and here they are!

Two Hares, Caramel and Toffee, which I wanted to use really natural colours with :)
Caramel (the lighter one) is already sold but the darker Toffee is still looking for a new home!

For more pics have a look on- Toffee & Caramel  :)

And now!!! The first fully complete Little Elephant! This one has been quite frustrating as the trunk connecting to the head is SO fiddly, in a small space and has to be very secure and strong...but I have cracked it now and so pleased I can actually start releasing them into the world, haha.

Ears, tail and trunk all have wire running through them so they can be posed in lots of different ways :)

Ears can be held forwards or backwards.

Ever wanted an elephant to climb onto your hand?

Need any pencils carrying?

Hope you like!

I've also had a very exciting email conversation over the past few days which I'm going to keep quiet for now, but there's some really good stuff happening :D

AND the laser cutter has been fixed!! So on Monday I will be catching up on all the Little Deer orders, as well and a few more Hares, new projects and a very special Little White Horse :)

Sooo pleased with how these have turned out! They hang really nicely, perfect tree decorations for Christmas (am I allowed to say that word yet??) I'll be selling them £15 each or two for £25, first batch is nearly already sold out!! Got some translucent white ones too for a more 'modern tree' haha.

Have a look on my Facebook page to contact me for sales-

'Moonlight' pics

Moonlight is finished! She's available here-

Reclaimed wooden stand, with bendable wire to allow different poses/angles.

Airbrushed in hand-mixed creamy-greys, with a subtle, golden iridescent shimmer, as though she's standing under starlight...

Grazing :)

Proper Bat Horse Pictures

New Horses on the way.

Mini Bat Pony is nearly finished! I'm really pleased with this one, it's got a shimmery gold layer, with little dapples on legs/tummy/cheeks where I've darkened the points to black, if that makes sense. I think this gives it much more dimension than a flat black surface :) Going to list his guy on Etsy when he's done and will add link later.

And these two on the way are an idea I've had for a while- a pale dappled grey 'Moonlight' and a blue/black 'Midnight'- Hoping to get some really striking pics of these two together, and then try and do some more PR, sent out to press, etc etc :)

A 'Box of Horse' :)

Very first prototype, still a lot of adjustments to be made, but it's a start! I'm glad that the contoured nostrils work (though maybe a bit to big and not wide enough) and that horns are good (though need bulking up a bit)... And I want more eye definition with more layers. And teeth would be good too...

Lots of Mini Horse/Unicorns!

Rose- Mini Commission off to IOWA!

Herd of Unicorns, pre-horn-goldifying...

(SOLD) Pink! Lovely translucent acrylic...

There are two white acrylic ones, available here-

(Sold) And translucent Bl-Unicorn!

And I have a special, one off Mini up my sleeve for Halloween! :D Watch this space!

And two full scale horses, Moonlight and Midnight, who are drying as I type, ready to be sanded and airbrushed tomorrow.

I ordered the wrong thickness of laser ply so the Elephants have had a bit of a set-back, however- I'm off to the workshop this week so should have some soon! Dragon prototype is looking good, lots of adjustments needed, slow progress, will upload some pics of the first head tomorrow when there's better light in here!

Start of legs...

To balance out this head-twisting puzzle that is the Dragon, I've been making Flying Mini-Pigs!

Apple & Blackcurrant (both sold)

And there are a few more in the pipeline :)

Allll day, drawing, drawing...

So, the dragon is coming along... I had (foolishly) anticipated getting the first prototype cut today...but as ever, I make it more and more complex and end up spending the entire day in front of my laptop, adjusting tiny lines and drinking coffee...

But it's definitely getting there! I've calculated the size, if it's cut from 3mm material...approx 60cm (inc tail) with the body coming in at about 30cm. Nice size I think :) Like a small dog- a Lap Dragon, if you will...

It will have three toes and a rear-facing 'thumb' on each of it's four feet, individually articulated, and designed to steal treasure! and tree branches... I've got a goal in my head- a photoshoot of the first one perching in a tree, grasping branches and about to take flight... But there's a long way to go!

So, pictures-
This gives an idea of the scale (no pun intended) though I have thought about engraving scales onto the material...

I want the back legs to pass over the front, so it can curl up like the Ratties, so it's got quite a wide rear end, but I think that's good...stable...for flying and such... haha

Took quite a long time to get the drawings right for the back legs, having complete freedom is great, but getting it to look 'right' in my mind is actually harder! These are a sort of combination of dog/human style legs, with bird-feet.

And just one layer... abstract, no? ;)
